I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and first discovered the beauty of Vancouver Island in 1979. Captivated by everything the Island has to offer, it quickly became my favourite holiday destination—until I made the move permanent in April 2004.

An avid golfer, hockey player and motorcyclist, I’ve built lasting friendships through the activities I love and have become deeply connected to the Oceanside community. Vancouver Island has been a very special place for me and my family. It started with both sets of grandparents, who immigrated to Canada from Norway, Sweden and the UK. After exploring other parts of Canada, they decided to settle on beautiful Vancouver Island.

Although both my parents grew up in Nanaimo, work took our family off to Edmonton, Alberta – and there we stayed for close to 20 years. Thankfully, our connections to the island were strong and our summers were spent on the Island, enjoying the water and beaches of Maple Bay in Duncan and Kye Bay in Comox. This magical time cemented my love for the Island and planted the seed of returning one day.

Fast forward 20 years and my parents have retired back to the Island. My brother was also back on the Island leaving me as the lone family member in Alberta. I was working in sales, and loving it, earning multiple awards for sales and service, including the top 1% of performers in both sales and customer satisfaction. But the desire to go back to the Island never left.

It was an easy decision – I needed to make the Island my home. In 2020, I made that dream a reality and relocated to Vancouver Island. Today, my partner Leah and I live in Nanoose Bay, and when I’m not working, you’ll usually find us out exploring the Island with our goldendoodle, Bentley. Whether it’s discovering new beaches, trails, or local spots, we love taking in everything this incredible Island has to offer.
